During the last three decades, the photographer, Steven Siegel boldly documented the five boroughs of New York.
The series primarily contains photographs of the 80's revealing the dark side of New York, which for the majority was a daily reality for years.
At the sight of these pictures that remind the Subway Series of Bruce Davidson one is immediately plunged into an atmosphere that is conducive to a certain place and time.
Since the 80's New York has benefited many rehabilitation, renovation and security programs but we mustn't forget that the "Big Apple" was once one of the poorest cities in the United States.

Pendant les 3 dernières décennies, le photographe, Steven Siegel a audacieusement documentée les cinq arrondissements de New York.
La série contient principalement des photographies des années 80 révélant le coté obscur et de New York, qui pour la majorité était pendant de longues années une réalité quotidienne.
A la vue de ces clichés qui rappellent la série Subway de Bruce Davidson on est immédiatement plongé dans une atmosphère propre à un endroit et une époque.
Depuis les années 80 New York a bénéficié de nombreux programmes de réhabilitation, rénovation et sureté mais il ne faut pas oublier que la «Big Apple» était une des grandes villes les plus pauvres des Etats-Unis.
